Supporters of local business Head Case Curios- stage Abbey Road re-enactment to celebrate 1 year in Albert Road.
Tony Duke, owner of Head Case Curios was overwhelmed with the reaction of customers and supporters when he opened the shop Sunday 25th Nov. He’d invited people to join him and his wife, Zoe to celebrate one year at 4 Albert Road and had hoped enough people would attend for a few photographs. Within an hour of opening, there were over 50 people all dressed in their finery and the shop was certainly FULL!
“Standing outside for a group photo we filled the street so as we’re one side of a zebra crossing, we held an impromptu re-enactment of the classic Beatles, Abbey Road scene which was fun.
Then we headed to the Kings theatre-
as we’d been allowed to take photos outside.
Before retiring to Lord John Russell public house for more refreshments and frivolity.”
Gosport Steampunk Society members then conducted a splendid Tea Duelling session for everyone in the Lord John Russell Public House.G.S.S. members demonstrated the Tea Duelling, then guests,customers,were invited to participate in this very eccentric steampunk pastime.
Head Case Curios is a unique shop in a unique Southsea road that is known for its eclectic mix of traders and shops. Since opening in 2017 the Dukes have seen other businesses close, so they are rightly proud that their shop has gone from strength to strength. With plans for more curiosities to come, this shop is already attracting many visitors from out of the city, and is well worth a visit plus during December they will be open Sundays from 11 – 2 for those who can’t shop during the week.
